Gami Chicken & Beer

Korean$$

Fried chicken. Cold beer. You can’t go wrong! Your doctor might disagree, but this bargain student favourite is a hit. Having spawned two offshoots in the CBD, Gami turns over droves of dude-food loving diners who want something more discerning than the Colonel. Order off-script and you may be disappointed: ultra-saucy rice cakes, minced-pork dumplings and kimchi pancakes are best enjoyed after a few drinks. But the jugs of beer are large and cold (Brunswick Bitter on tap) and the piles of chicken crunchy and plentiful. The Korean bird comes expertly seasoned, on or off the bone, with slaw – healthy, right?
