Portuguese$$

Petersham's sense of community is nowhere more apparent than at Gloria's. Veteran patrons chat in Portuguese while filling up on fare and beer from back home. The food is unpretentious and has the heartiness of a home-cooked meal. Seafood dishes include a wonderful rice and chorizo-stuffed calamari with a tomato broth and potatoes. Feijoada is a little different to the Brazilian version, but slow-cooked beans and super tender pork tick all the comfort food boxes. Desserts are simple but worthwhile - try the chocolate mousse or the molotof, a light-as-air Portuguese meringue with custard sauce.
