Great Southern Hotel

Pub dining$$

While the architecture may say early 1900s, the eclectic menu is firmly planted in this century. With a regular weekday happy hour (5–7pm, beers$3, wine $4) it’s no wonder this pubis popular with the after-work crowd.Hence the share plates like crispy Peking duck spring rolls and thin crust pizzas. If it’s cold outside, you can’t go past the roasts: pork belly, twice cooked with caramelised apples and red wine jus as finger-licking good as your gran’s gravy. Dessert goes French with an Aussie twist in a Tim Tam brulee.
