An offshoot of the Newtown original, this is vegan nirvana. Specialising in textural meat substitutes, vegetarian mutton and Peking not-duck are convincing even for meat lovers. There are notes on gluten free options and a choice to exclude onions and garlic from the menu, too. Steamed gow gee are gingery and delicate, laced with crunchy water chestnut, while Lion King's claypot with taro 'meatballs', crunchy carrot and baby corn shines. Peace and calm is about more than the food, with gentle music complementing five-grain rice (with eyebrow beans) or mild ma po tofu.
