Modern Australian$$
It's worth seeking out this atmospheric, cosy little gem, which eschews the brewing big boys to feature a dozen craft beers on tap (including a selection from the Rocks Brewing Company, which took over the pub in 2010). A flight of beers on a wooden paddle is a good match for a menu that blends American favourites (such as crunchy onion rings, Louisiana hot wings and a choc-chip cookie skillet) with touches of Australiana (Cajun crocodile strips and burgers served in a damper bun). The intriguing beer sorbet, created from fruit-flavoured Limbic brews, thankfully turns out to taste more like raspberries than beer.
