Greek

Don't be fooled by its shopping strip location, and put aside your preconceived ideas of Greek restaurants, Hellenika has personality, polish and presence. In place of Greek cliches, there is attentive, professional service, contemporary decor and flavours so clear and true you'll imagine yourself by the Aegean. Simply prepared seafood is a feature, along with Greek mainstays such as spanakopita, handmade dolmades and souvlakia. Tucked into the regular menu, you'll find daily mezedes (small plates) and psari (fish), specials such as ultra-fresh crisp whitebait fried and served with lemon, surf clams with orzo and whole rock flathead baked with tomato and red wine. In place of rough reds and sharp whites, the wine list delights with well-chosen selections including wines made from Greek indigenous varieties. Make room for traditional sweets such as the karidopita cake, soaked in syrup and rich with walnuts, cinnamon and cloves, and served with a scoop of halva ice-cream.
