Hotel Sweeney's

Sweeny's is one of the last holdouts against the tide of chrome and blonde-wood bars flooding the Town Hall area. This is cracked tiles on the outside, old-school beers on tap and an amin Room filled with pokies (yes, someone has nicked both the Gs off the sign). Servicing the front bar, restaurant and rooftop bar is Sweeney's Thai. A good, honest pub Thai joint, there are no marquee dishes here, just the standards done well, with Western classics thrown in just in case chilli scares you. The massaman lamb curry (an occasional blackboard special) is worth grabbing when it's there.
