What a bunfight - or should that be noodle spat? This lively ramen stop has all the glamour of a fast-food outlet, and indeed the huge bowls of steaming broth come fast and furious. Put in your order at the counter, take a number and find a seat, either outside in the mall or at one of the squeezy, wipe-clean tables inside. The food is fun and filling, whether it's chilli-spiked tantan-men - ramen noodles with minced pork, egg and choy sum - or a sweeter, gentler sukiyaki don (marinated beef on rice). The ramune-style self-carbonating 'cider' is an adventure in itself. Also TGV, 500 George Street, Sydney 9262 7677.
