Indosari

Asian

A bargain-hunter’s bonanza. This humble family-run eatery has prices from yesteryear (and slightly shabby decor from then, too). While it may not look much from the outside, the offerings in the bain-marie are surprisingly good. Regulars include students, locals and Indonesian families who share the three long tables and high bench. Most popular dishes include beef rendang (fall-apart tender) and chicken curry (on the bone). The owners encourage diners to experiment: jackfruit curry is a standout. Bok choy, tofu and eggplant dishes are usually on offer. There’s no menu but $10 buys rice, two meat choices and one vegetable choice.
