Jasmin 1 Punchbowl

Lebanese

The aroma of rosewater wafts through this deep, narrow, mural-lined space where crowds of all backgrounds pile in for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu has the cuisine covered, from foul to shish tawook. The killer kibbeh and heavenly hummus are stand-outs, but the insanely low prices mean a large party can try a bit of everything, while solo diners do well with a mixed plate. It’s large, noisy, even chaotic, but worth it. Finish with the only dessert on offer: pistachio-crowned milk pudding, mouhalabih, each spoonful redolent, again, of rose blossoms.
