The burgers here are mighty fine - just hold off on the cholesterol test. A seat outside in the lovely Republic courtyard seems the right fit for a Backyard BBQ Beef Burger. It’s a three-napkin job - not elegant in the slightest, but lip-smackingly good with bacon, homemade barbecue sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, pickle relish and coleslaw with sweet-potato fries. Macaroni and cheese, and a gargantuan slice of coconut cream pie, are worthy burger bookends - though a pre-meal, month-long fast might be required to conquer all three. Top the USA experience off with a Dr Pepper or West Coast wine.
