American (US)

Nestled back from the beach in one of Bondi's quieter spots, Jed's is a chilled-out space with a great deal of personal charm in spite of (or perhaps because of) the laid-back staff. Bondi hipsters are surprisingly scarce here; instead an almost normal mishmash of tradies, professionals and dreadlocked holidayers weave in and out, knocking back zesty Toby's Estate flat whites ($3.50) in the process. A display of house-made salads and wraps make decisions a chore, but our money's on the eggs kurosawa: a samurai's bowl of nori-laced scramble, quinoa, avocado and shichimi pepper with a caterpillar of wasabi on the side.
