Jipang

Japanese$$

Rumour has it that a bunch of Japanese surfer dudes arrived on the shores of Manly years ago and opened Jipang to fund their extended surfing holiday. The legend lives on, much to the joy of locals who rarely leave the half-dozen tables vacant. You can’t beat the gyoza, six little crispy-bottomed pork pot-stickers, delicious with their soy dipping sauce. Jipang’s bento boxes offer incredibly good value, as do the steaming, fragrant bowls of ramen and udon soups, piled high with delicately shredded vegetables. For those unfamiliar with Japanese curry, now’s the time - velvety, subtly spiced goodness. Sandy paws welcome.
