Kafe Altura

Modern Australian

Mocha lovers take note: the choc-coffee cuppa served at this highly likeable cafe is one to savour, perhaps because they use the brilliant Morgan's coffee and Zokoko chocolate from the Lower Blue Mountains; maybe it's just the care with which it's made and served by warm, amiable staff. Also on the list of suppliers are local Pure Gelato and Bowan Island Bakery, their bread used to make an enticing range of sandwiches including a top BLT and great chicken schnitzel. Good all-day brekkie includes eggs benny with house-made salmon gravlax. The room, which opens up to footpath seating in warmer months, could do with fewer Ikea-style decorations, but house-made cakes and muffins put smiles on dials.
