An enormous vase bursting with wildflowers sits at the centre of this Darling Street institution, as families and friends dig into a magic carpet ride of Middle Eastern-inspired hits. Coffee by Di Lorenzo is brewed with finesse and shines in a nutty double espresso ($4.50), although it tends to get overlooked in the general feasting. Chickpea fritters with poached egg, creme fraiche and baby spinach gets a bit mushy after a fracas with the fork, but couscous with stewed rhubarb, nuts and cardamom milk is sweetly warming. Come in a group for a feast of felafels, kebabs, pilafs and petits fours until one or all of you bursts a seam.
