Kelvin Bar

Kelvin Bar is perhaps the most appropriate place in Melbourne to use the word 'groovy'. It isn't big on obvious signage, so use the tangerine-hued Triumph scooter parked outside as your guide. Inside it's a psychedelic disco lounge with a huge mosaic-tiled bar, retro stools and dilapidated velvet sofas lit by amber pendant lights. A vast cocktail list skips from the classics to contemporary favourites, and a stonking whisky selection covers the shelves. They're not afraid of the taste of alcohol here, as evidenced by punchy Manhattans, lapped up by a hipster crew smoking rollies streetside. Random snacks include hot salami with crackers.
