Kitchen Kultcha

Cafe

At this cosy corner eatery, decked out in recycled furniture, the focus is on what goes into the kitchen as much as what comes out. Smoothies are made with home-made yoghurt and organic honey, the co-owner's parents grow some of the vegies, and the eggs are organic and free-range. Also organic is the health-giving Greek mountain tea, which has fast become renowned. Staples from the wide-ranging menu include brioche French toast with smoky bacon and maple syrup, and Spanish baked eggs, or for later arrivals, moussaka, pasta and house-made pasties. Fancy a sweetie? Try the kourabiedes (almond shortbread).
