Kuali

Malaysian$$

Step into this sleepy arcade and you'll be instantly transported to a Malaysian village, with its satay mural and sepia street-food photos. From curry puffs to char kwai teow, this place has it all. The satay could do with more charcoal flavour and cucumber slices for dipping into peanut sauce; the ayam percik is a better choice, grilled then smothered with a sweet, dark sauce, a perfect dish with steamed rice and stir-fried Asian greens. But the one-dish wonder that really hits the high notes is the mamak mee, bulging with prawns and spicy wok-charred noodles. Add the signature durian dessert into the mix and you're in for a truly Malaysian experience.
