Mexican
Food truck Al Carbon has moved its La Lupita Canterbury warehouse pop-up to a more permanent address at stalwart music venue The Basement. The menu is a solid six-piece – three starters and three tacos, the latter served half-built, with a choose-your-own buffet of vegies and salsas to add to the roasted chicken-, pork- or beef-filled soft tortillas. Blackened chicken wings served with a burnt-orange chipotle cream is music for your mouth, while frijoles charros are a sort of upmarket nachos, featuring tortilla chips slathered in beans, crema mexicana, stringy queso de Oaxaca and a dry salsa.
