La Mono

Lebanese$$

Flame-licked charcoal chicken is the main drawcard, but it’s far from being the one thing done well here. For starters, this might be the flashiest-looking chicken shop in Sydney; clean, modern and complete with outdoor seating bordered by neat hedges. Then there’s the toum, the addictive glossy garlic dip: perfect smeared on flatbread filled with chicken and pink pickled turnip. A generous vegetarian platter includes cheese sambusik - pastry with an oozy fetta and oregano filling - and fried cauliflower florets, but the popular order sees plates piled high with chips, chicken, hummus and pickles. For dessert, try a fresh fruit shake or some Giotto Gelato.
