La Piadina

Italian

Owned and run by two Italian brothers, this petite eatery with a handful of high stools packs out regularly with punters craving one thing: thin flatbread, made to order, with various fillings enclosed. That's piadina, not pizza or panino. A blackboard lists about 16 options with various arrangements of top-notch smallgoods and cheeses. Classic mozzarella and tomato hits the spot, but for a more substantial feed try the salami, mushroom and stracchino (a soft cow's milk cheese). To end, there are house-made pastries such as lemon tart or crostata, but it's hard to pass up the little Nutella pockets made using the same dough as the piadina and filled with deliciously drippy choc-hazelnut goodness.
