La Tortilleria

Mexican

Our love of Mexican food continues unabated, but finding authenticity in a sombrero full of Tex Mex interpretations has been a challenge. Then La Tortilleria opened its doors. Its original plan was to just sell 100 per cent stone-ground corn fresh-baked tortillas; it does that, and more. Quesadillas filled with beans and white cheese or chorizo keep the crowds coming, as do tacos piled high with spicy pork belly, grilled beef or mushroom, while tostaditas (with a hard tortilla base) are a more recent, vibrant addition. Finish with a sweet flan (based on a family recipe) or rich hot chocolate.
