Le Miel et la Lune

Cafe

This sun-drenched corner cafe is low-key, on-trend and - just a short stroll from Melbourne Uni - usually packed with students. The short menu features eggs on Zeally Bay bread and lunchtime fare with an Asian accent (soba noodles, yuzu chicken salad) from ex-Proud Mary chef Jung Eun Chae. The Proud Mary influence extends to the coffee, with the sweet, syrupy Angel Wings blend pulled from a La Marzocco with a flourish. Plants and bare bulbs swing from the ceiling, the staff have a certain swagger, and it's named after a song by oh-so-hip folk singer Joseph Arthur (that's Honey and the Moon, for non-Francophones).
