Lord Wolseley Hotel

13/20

Modern Australian

Almost every boozer between Alexandria and Ultimo likes to claim its share of crims but the Wolseley is allegedly the spot where a beer-battered Neddy Smith decided to put a stop to a nearby argument with a couple of bullets sprayed about the bar. And you can see why a man might resort to violence to hear anything in this place - it's a raucous, fun, locals' pub. The bistro ranges from solid $7.95 pastas to burgers and even a Thai. The pad see ew ($9.95-$11.95 depending on the meat) is excellent and the bistro does a good range of entrees starting at $4.95.
