Seafood$$$

Far above the hustle and bustle of Coronation Drive, Lure is an oasis of white calm, its subdued interior a perfect balance to the fast-paced theatre of its open kitchen. Unapologetically seafood-oriented, the menu offers a wide array of oysters and crab at market prices and various crustaceans prepared simply on the grill. A further investigation produces glimmers of more complex fare, including a prawn and crab salad soused in a spiked yuzu dressing or the outstanding seafood chowder, which proffers an extra dimension, thanks to the addition of smoked pancetta. While the seafood platter for two was disappointing in both portion size and execution, other main courses deliver strongly, if perhaps a little uninspired in their accompaniments. Desserts also play it safe, with a molten-centred chocolate pudding finding a suitable match in raspberry and creme fraiche sorbet. Having been highly awarded in the past, Lure just needs to tweak the reins to re-establish itself as Brisbane's pre-eminent seafood dining destination.
