Korean$$

Learning your Korean ABCs? Try MaBaSa. The simple name is three characters from the Korean alphabet, and is paired with minimalist black walls and little potted plants. The menu features classic rice, stew and barbecue dishes, alongside surprises such as ya-ssam - julienned pear and mixed veg, wrapped in pickled radish and topped with a light wasabi-mayo and black sesame. ‘Corn and cheese’ is just that - stringy bubbling cheese studded with kernels and sizzling on a hotplate - while too-tame bibimbap is well served by thick, smoky chilli paste. Kind, casual service and seats spilling outside have a chilled, cafe vibe. Easy as MaBaSa.
