Mamasita

Mexican$$

Mamasita still has us up against the wall, queuing along a narrow staircase. Amazingly, floor staff remain cheery and systems work seamlessly; it’s tough juggling queues, fast-paced dining and the occasional frustration of a taco-deprived punter. Inside it’s a little bit New York, a little bit 1970s and a lot delicious. Juicy cobs of corn rolled in queso fresco and chipotle with fresh lime fly out fast; try tacos with spiced prawns and a textural almond salsa, or bite-sized tostaditas piled with slow-braised goat and a sprightly coriander salsa. Shimmy out, and greet the next shift of punters doing their time on the stairs.
