If there were a prize for consistency Mecca Bah would be a firm contender for top honours. The downside of having an almost unchanging menu is that frequent flyers might get bored. The upside is that when you like a particular dish, such as the chickpea-battered mussels with creamy, nutty skordalia or the saffron/cinnamon chicken bastillas, you can come back over and over, knowing it will taste just as great as it did on your first visit. The indoor-outdoor lines are blurred, and the courtyard is easily the most attractive dining space with wooden chairs and tables inlaid with colourful tiles. Inside is cosy and moodily lit. There's a solid line-up of mezze, colourful salads, pide-style pizzas as well as spicy tagines and a range of grilled dishes. An exotic collection of desserts includes Lebanese lady fingers, pistachio maamoul and a range of decadent ice-cream. The cocktail list has plenty of exotica so kick off with a Turkish apple ice tea or a sloe berry fizz for fun.
