St Kilda is starting to look a little worried, as nearby Bentleigh bags another benchmark cafe. Mario Minichilli and Vincent Conti, who earnt their chops at St Kilda’s Inkr7, have brought their inner-city cafe smarts to their home suburb, and the place is rocking. Tea is a focus (choose from 10 types), Prana chai is the must-do brew, and coffee is a rotating list of Melbourne’s best. Everything from the kitchen’s good but standouts include bubble-and-squeak with hot smoked trout and horseradish; duck banh mi; and a bagel crammed with mushrooms, feta and chilli jam.
