What's not to love? This bustling, rambunctious, rowdy pizzeria packs in the locals five nights a week without fear or favour. Kids race around the pavement tables, noise bounces off the concrete floor and laminate tables, service swiftly delivers cutlery and tumblers for the no-corkage BYO, and the wood-fired oven delivers blistered, thin-crust pizza with unfailing conviction. Salads, such as pear, walnut, rocket and goat's cheese, are always super-fresh and dressed lightly to enhance rather than swamp the produce. You won't find ham and pineapple or super supreme - just simple, rustic combinations such as field mushroom and parmesan; roasted pumpkin, pesto and ricotta; or prosciutto and rocket on a homemade tomato base. There are also basic pasta dishes, an antipasto platter, and an enormous spooned quenelle of chocolate mousse with homemade ice-cream to keep those ankle-biters quiet - at least while you make your way to the counter to pay the bill.
