Milkwood

Cafe

Vaulted ceilings and a bright, white interior lend this busy little cafe (with a street-front annexe) an air of cool and calm. The vitalising menu is packed with fresh and flavourful ingredient combinations. Sauteed mushrooms on toast with grilled taleggio are lifted with a hint of lemon thyme. Rhubarb porridge is both sweet and tart and comes with a smattering of mixed nuts for crunch. Lunch baguettes sport fillings like chorizo, avocado, goat’s cheese and tomato relish; or beetroot, feta, avocado, sprouts and mint. Coffees are balanced and smooth, and ferried out by staff members who have that laid-back cool-and-calm thing going on.
