Misky Cravings

South American$$

Tucked inside a nondescript shopping arcade, this family-run Peruvian restaurant has been a local favourite since 2011. Begin with a bracing leche de tigre soup made from the leftovers of ceviche: lime juice, chilli, and cured white fish. It’s billed as both an aphrodisiac and a hangover cure (two birds, one spicy stone). Hearty mains include lomo saltado - smoky strips of stir-fried beef with sweet, blackened onions, tomato and thick potato chips with soy sauce and chilli - and a creamy chicken stew. Order a jug of chicha morada, a tart juice of purple corn, and finish with a light torta tres leches: three milk cake.
