Misty is one of Melbourne's oldest laneway bars, in Hosier Lane's famed graffiti-daubed urban gallery. The grungy interior could do with some TLC, but it's still a trippy space soaked in orange hues and sporting crazy pendant lighting and graf-covered toilets. It's usually packed with the kind of cool crew who eschew the more overtly touristy bars. Although there are no super-exciting beers on offer, a decent-enough cocktail list of 'forgotten classics' - such as the Missionary's Downfall, with Cuban rum and fresh pineapple - keeps things lubricated. Watch out for the cobblestones on your already-wobbly way out.
