Moksha

Indian$$

This is the kind of Indian gem that’s worth the price of a turmeric-stained shirt. The waiters are welcoming, there are plenty of happy faces at the tables, and the decor and lighting are muted and soft rather than Bollywood bright. Modernity seems to have influenced the menu and careful presentation, too. As appetisers, the vibrant chicken tikka and deeply savoury tandoor-roasted lamb cutlets are moreish and irresistible and offset with a quenching raita. Use a butter-soft naan to envelop moist chunks of butter chicken and an earthy, sweet-sour beef vindaloo, which delivers a welcome hit of heat.
