May we present, ladies and gentlemen, the archetypal Sydney dining experience? Food comes with full-on flavour, from whatever the culinary influence. Wine is interesting, eclectic, surprising and fun. Service is smart, and there’s action all around. Eat lots or just a little, hang at the bar or hunker down for the duration. This is how we’re eating and drinking right now and Monopole is just the place to do both. From house-cured smallgoods to inventive little combos - salt cod, pea, mint and pistachio; ceviche of sardines with eggplant and rye crumb; spiced lamb with tomatoes and feta - this is deliciousness exemplified. There are always some intriguing cheese choices and desserts (strawberries with cream, basil and milk crumb, perhaps) are an exercise in both texture and taste. Just another cool performance from the Bentley boys. Thanks, guys. Cue applause.
