Breakfast is served until noon at this funky vegie cafe, but it's the banquet-style lunch that has a queue snaking out the door from 11.30am. Order a plate at the counter (small $10, medium $14, large $18) and expect a generous tasting-plate helping that might include warm dhal, zucchini bake, glass-noodle salad and chilli tofu jam, made by Richmond Tofu Shop International's former chef, Matthew Andrews. An Espresso Syndicate long black ($3.50) is a bright and well-rounded brew with a caramel finish; the perfect accompaniment to a house-baked slice or cookie.
