Murmur

Murmur still feels like a hidden gem despite having being around since 2004. Cocktails take pride of place, although the overwhelming 60-plus list has been streamlined to 10 old favourites and 10 new. The newies are clean and classic: things like a gimlet of gin, lime marmalade and lime juice ('just like a lime icypole') or a mojito with limoncello and ginger beer. The space is classic, too - chandelier and candlelight, dark wood and dark leather chesterfield-style sofas - with some retro-industrial touches from its past as a coffee and spice mill. A partnership with the tapas bar downstairs makes for great bar snacking.
