Good Food hat15/20

This is Muse Restaurant’s baby sister, a casual-cafe style with a white-on-taupe interior and umbrella-shaded sandstone courtyard amid the manicured lawns and box hedging of the rather spiffy Keith Tulloch winery. Food veers towards simple, Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as prawns deglazed in verjus, with a kalamata crumble and medley of cherry tomatoes, salad leaves and chives; or a peppery lamb burger patty, caramelised onions and bite of blue cheese, with a landslide side of French fries and garlic aioli. Pan-fried salmon is pink and glossy with a gremolata butter and bountiful mound of nasturtium leaves, capers, orange segments and fennel, while pan-fried gnocchi is soft and silky, scattered with roasted garlic, pancetta, baby spinach, rocket and parmesan. Let the kids frolic on that beautiful lawn while you scoop up creamy coconut sorbet with a twang of fresh mango and lime and whiskers of candied fennel. A beautiful spot for a lazy afternoon.
