My Canh

Vietnamese$$

The constant dilemma for regulars at this stalwart family-run eatery is whether to stick to their favourites (such as pork and prawn rice-paper rolls with addictive peanut dipping sauce) or choose something new from the menu of 200-plus items. Whatever the case, it's sure to be fabulously fresh, as if the herbs and vegies have been harvested to order. Campfire beef, cooked at the table with tomato and onion, is served with mountains of fresh greens for self-stuffing into rice paper with a drizzle of tangy sauce, while lightly battered salt-and-pepper squid is wonderfully tender. Quiet, helpful staff provide never-ending tea refills, complimentary fresh fruit, and advice on how much to order. It's up to you though: eat super-cheap, or pig out and stagger out for $25 a head.
