My Sister Says

Contemporary$$

You’d be hard-hearted indeed to be unmoved by Sister’s front window, florid with outstanding home-made pleasures like salted choc-caramel slice, flourless rhubarb cake with a dob of custard icing, and passionfruit beehive cake. Most of the menu is made from scratch; they do a lot with a narrow kitchen and not much seating. A deep, wide bar has room to both ruffle a paper and line up a coffee and dukkah poached eggs with avo. A seasonal menu sings with colour: there’s usually two multihued salads, or heartier scrambled eggs with potato roesti in winter. Order tactically and allow space for cake.
