Na Bangkok

Thai

It’s happy, light and bright orange and white, and seating’s limited, so booking is wise. A lengthy menu focuses on food that’s attractive and not too challenging. (But beware the after-effects of petal - aptly nicknamed stinky beans - with pork, prawns, garlic and chilli.) Satay chicken and tamarind prawns satisfy expectations, ditto a red duck curry packed with lean meat. Som tam (green papaya) salad has a satisfying citrus edge. As the evening winds down couples saunter in for Chiang Mai street food dessert: freshly twirled roti smeared with condensed milk and sprinkled with Milo powder, a glass of Pinky Milky on the side.
