Nabiha

Cafe

Nabiha is an oasis in the middle of Moonee Ponds Central shopping centre. It’s nothing glamorous, until you step inside the narrow space designed by Breathe Architecture, its soaring ceiling strung with festoon lights and the banquette built from leather jacket scraps. Brunch-friendly grilled eggs with feta and chorizo sit beside lahm bi ajeen, the soft flat bread blanketed in minced lamb, spiced with sumac and topped with rocket (a side of labna is a must). Panini hold prosciutto and tapenade, while flaky pastries are a treat with faultless coffee. Look for the quirky laser-cut mural outside, inspired by Melbourne artist Rona Green.
