Newport Arms Hotel

The Arms has one of the best views of any pub in NSW, overlooking the southern end of Pittwater, but has never rested on its laurels. Weddings. Massive NYE parties. Kids' playgrounds. Big-screen movies. The pub food has often been the weak link (there's a separate fine dining restaurant above). But today the Garden Bistro staff are on top of their game. The Atlantic salmon with potato gratin, fennel and watercress salad and orange vinaigrette is delicious. So is the rogan josh special and the grilled barramundi with chat potatoes, speck, cabbage, baby spinach and lime aioli.
