Cafe
Set in a former flower shop in the begonia triangle of North Carlton's florist precinct, this new kid gives star-crossed lovers an excuse to linger and refuel their passions. Sit on the expansive awning-protected footpath, rear courtyard or inside where it's all polished concrete floors, natural timber and pressed-tin ceilings. Sketchbook-toting locals join lovers lapping up espressos that come heavy with crema, revealing a slightly nutty, bitter-chocolate brew. The atmosphere's chilled and there's plenty of choice on the substantial all-day-breakfast and lunch menus, from wagyu burgers to simple egg, bacon and avocado on wholemeal rolls.
