Omah's provides a chic setting in which to sample Nonya cuisine, its interior inspired by 1950s Malaysian teahouses. The kitchen's speciality is mud crab, but it stretches the budget. There's plenty of in-budget joy to be had in dishes such as mee goreng generously studded with chicken and prawns, and grilled scallops atop yam cakes, accompanied by mayonnaise spiced up with ginger flowers. De-boned duck braised with star anise, cloves and five-spice also makes prominent use of ginger flowers, which are crushed into a gorgeous chilli-flecked paste.
