Pacific Seafood BBQ House

Seafood$$

This Chinese canteen, not far from South Yarra station, offers a good feed at a brisk rate. It’s fairly hectic, with queues most nights (booking is advised) and diners crammed into every cranny. The functional interior showcases fresh seafood - on display in big tanks - and so does the menu. Deep-fried calamari with spicy salt and chilli could use more flavour and be crisper, less oily, though a half Peking duck is fantastic: pre-rolled pancakes stuffed with devilishly fattened fowl and wicked plum sauce. Pork sang choy bao is a flavour explosion. Also in Richmond.
