Paju BBQ

Korean$$

If you feel strongly enough about Korean food, this could be your stairway to heaven. Painted in hunger-inducing shades of orange and red, Paju is one flight up from busy King Street. The $8.90 lunch specials are a steal, including top bibimbap - our favourite being the sizzling stone pot full of rice, vegies, kimchi and cheese. Dinnertime works best with a group and unbridled ordering. Sweet chilli fried chicken is sticky-sweet, barbecues are not-too-smoky portable gas numbers (get a meat platter and go nuts!), and ddukbokki is a saucy mess of gummy rice cake cylinders. Korean beer and helpful service are bonuses.
