Parisian Patisserie Boulangerie

French

It’s a delightful surprise to come across a touch of Parisian chic in busy Keilor Road. Small, round tables for two run along the wall opposite display cabinets in which pastries are laid out like jewels. A buttery and well-seasoned roast vegetable and pesto brioche may be the pick of the savouries, while baguettes have fillings like smoked salmon, capers and cheese; or roast chicken with rocket. But the true stars of the show are the sweets. A creamy lemon tart has a hint of tang and is supported by crumbly, shortcrust pastry; while almond croissants are laden with shaved nuts and delicately dusted with icing sugar.
