Peas Please

Modern Australian

From the framed silver spoons and white cuckoo clock to the glass-rod chandelier and obscure name (where are the peas, by the way?), Peas Please certainly intrigues. While the menu is not so adventurous, it's packed with favourites; for breakfast, it's tough to outdo scrambled eggs and home-made baked beans. And - paramount for any cafe - the coffee is reliably good. During the weekday lunch hour it can be tricky to score a takeaway, let alone a table, but the daily soup is a failsafe choice - always fresh and packed with flavour. The fajitas are massive and the BLT has a deliciously smoky and sweet chipotle sauce.
