Spanish

Peasant's setting resonates of an upmarket mess hall, with its long communal tables and convivial atmosphere. Outside, those wanting a quieter meal might find reprieve in the more intimate seating options. A seasonal menu features a range of Spanish dishes, from something to nibble on with a glass of sangria to tapas or more substantial share plates. Australian-made chorizo is featured in the tapa dish of chorizitas in cider and apples. Their Spanish counterparts, smokier and spicier, are found in the unctuous Asturian bean stew along with morcilla, a soft, fat-flecked blood sausage. Seville duck with olives is a perfect marriage of savoury, sweet and zesty. The dessert menu is concise; as well as the traditional churros, there's an unusual chestnut mousse in addition to another much loved Spanish classic; rice pudding here, here given a savoury twist with the addition of fennel and sumac. A well chosen list of Spanish wines rounds off the Iberian experience.
